Affiliation Announced
CCBI leaders have completed several months of negotiations with South African Theological Seminary to form an alliance designed to broaden options for Christians studying through distance education.
Advantages for CCBI students include (1) course availability either online or via CD-rom (2) accredited programs (3) optional textbook choices for researching assigned topics (4) graduate level courses ( which are being phased out with CCBI) (5) same Great Commission, low cost, evangelical emphasis. Procedural steps are not ironed out yet, but current and newly enrolling CCBI students will be given the option of working through traditional CCBI courses with National Director and specified textbooks from the materials library, or through SATS electronic media curriculum. Although course preparation could be quite different, the cost factor will be kept to a minimum in both schools. All enrollments must be handled through CCBI only. For a detailed look at SATS go to www.sats.edu.za. Dr. Frank Jabini of Suriname, academic vice president of CCBI, thoroughly researched, recommended and initiated dialogue with SATS for the Board of Directors. Executive vice president Bob Ridley continued the development and fine-tuning of the affiliation agreement, with input by Raymond Saunders, president emeritus, and ratification by the Board of Directors in October 2002.

Trinidad students prepared and presented guests a colorful and informative graduation program booklet featuring a dedication page for co-founder and teacher Mrs. Jan Saunders, vision statement essays from each graduate and from president emeritus Dr. Raymond Saunders, photos of all students, and congratulatory messages from family and friends. Prayer Ministry Vivian McCalman, who started with CCBI in Suriname and continues in Massachusetts, reported to “Divine Healing” teacher Harry Camp on his healing ministry. McCalman fasted and prayed for a deaf mute boy who is now responsive though not yet speaking; he prayed and cursed a teacher’s back pain, which left her that same day; he laid hands and spoke healing for his mother with depression and drooling which healed in a few days; he presented the gospel and prayed for Joan with severe back pain; she received healing and then glorious salvation. Vivian also laid hands and prayed for a little girl dysfunctional with severe trembling and weakness who received complete healing, and led the children in a class where he was substituting to pray and see healing for their sick teacher by the end of that same day. Three professors on CCBI’s volunteer faculty are in the place where God loves best to work - where all human resources are exhausted. Bob Ridley and Frank Jabini are battling stress-induced cardio-vascular illness, and Ken Allen is dealing with long-term effects of leukemia. Please pray much for these men of God and their dependent families as they want desperately to feel well enough to continue in effective service, and look for results in upcoming newsletters. |
