From the Desk of the President

Dear Friends of CCBI:

When you read this Newsletter, nearly a month will have passed since our Fall Conference. And, it is interesting to note that everyone present was concerned about the future of CCBI and the leadership of it’s new president. During the conference we sensed with anticipation that the Holy Spirit is still at the helm and about to put CCBI on a course that is going to touch many nations in these end times and I believe it is going to happen too.

This is also the Decade of Excellence, and, that is going to be our goal here at CCBI. That is, to train up quality leaders who are committed to change the very fabric of their societies through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We stand united in Christ fulfilling the Great Commission by discipling the nations to be followers of the One whom we follow, Jesus Christ!

This conference was a resounding success and we came away excited and full of expectations knowing that God is in control. The success of this conference is also due to the fact that everyone was involved in some way or another and I want to take this opportunity to say, “Thank You.”

His Disciple,
Dr. Rose

The Inauguration of Dr. Rose as Our Third President

The inauguration of Dr. Desmond Rose was a glorious occasion that included the traditional procession of faculty and student in academic regalia, led by President Emeritus Dr. Raymond Saunders. Board member and co-founder Mrs. Jan Saunders reviewed the history of our school. Board Member Mrs. Maudie Wright sang our theme song, “The Breaking of the Bread.” Executive Vice President Bob Ridley introduced President-elect Dr. Desmond Rose, then gave the official Charge to the President. With the laying on of hands by CCBI Board, Dr. Saunders offered the prayer of installation.

Graduation at the Fall Conference

After delivering his inaugural address, Dr. Rose conferred the degree of Associate of Christian training upon Mr. Earl Wayne Adkison. Then after the benediction, President Rose led the traditional recessional of faculty, board and graduate.

Encouraging World

In each of seven countries CCBI has students hard at work on school courses that will be graded by professors. It is a system that has worked for years with the aid of National Directors in each of those countries. CCBI has started a new program to encourage those faithful National Directors. A person as been appointed for each of the seven National Directors to pray faithfully for them and to contact them regularly. When problems arise on the field, when there are prayer requests, when there are victories, the National Director is urged to contact their personal encourager, who will in turn contact Margaret Ridley, the International Administrator. Margaret will act as a go-between for the National Director and the College Administration.

This program will benefit both the National Director and the Administration. We would also love to have fresh news for the newsletter from each country, and pictures of events that take place on the field.

We appreciate the seven people who volunteered to be an encourager to the National Directors. We have a report from Kenya by Jan Saunders for the newsletter this time.

Thank You National Directors and Encouragers:

Belize ~ National Director - Manuel Cowo
Encourager: Ken Allen
Grenada ~ National Director - Laudwin Antoine

CCBKenyaCCBKenya

CCBKenya is planning graduation probably April 4, 2003. The division is eager to have a CCBI representative from the U.S. to teach seminar courses during that week and to help officiate the graduation, as was the custom before 9-11. If the Lord leads any CCBI leaders to accept that challenge they should contact Jan or Ray Saunders at 423-628-2327 or ccbi@tstt.net.tt for information.
