From the President’s Pen:

Dear Friends and Family of CCBI,

I greet you in Jesus’ name.

I am sure by now that you noticed a major change in the newsletter. In fact, you can tell that it took a lot of hard work for this letter to look so wonderful. So I wish to take this opportunity to thank Sister Margaret Ridley for taking on the responsibility of doing the newsletter. She is doing an incredible job!

I would also like to thank all of you who have made CCBI a part of your monthly support. As I have said many times, “We cannot do what God has called us to without your help!” So thank you very much.

In way of testimony, God has given us some new financial sponsors who would like to help some students finish paying for their tuition. Praise the Lord! This is an answer to prayer!

Lastly, I want to say “thank you” again to all of you who work very hard to help students all around the world become everything God desires them to be. You may never meet them face-to-face, but I assure you they are most grateful. So I pass along their love for all you have done. God Bless!

Praising Yah,

Dr. Bill Sharples

Good News!

Thanks to the efforts, contacts and paperwork of Dr. Frank Jabini, Dr. Bill Sharples, Paula Replogle, Dr. and Mrs. Raymond Saunders, Caribbean College of the Bible International was officially recognized by the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education November 1, 2001. The Bible college is granted exemption from licensure as “a not-for-profit school owned, controlled and operated by a bona fide religious or denominational organization which offers no programs or degrees and grants no degrees or certificates other than those specifically designated as theological, bible, divinity or other religious designation.” This is a landmark attainment for furthering CCBI’s international credibility which was not an option in Tennessee. We praise God for this significant achievement.

Merry Christmas to all our CCBI Family!

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

New Caribbean Field Director

Mrs. Kathleen James, Trinidad National Director since 1999, was recently appointed by Dr. Bill Sharples to be Caribbean Field Director, effective as soon as she is able to transfer the national office into the hands of a person she has trained. In her new position Sister Kathleen will coordinate the training and administration of all CCBI’s Caribbean area directors, including Antigua, Belize, Grenada, Guyana , St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Suriname, Trinidad and any developing divisions. Even before her appointment she had helped with Christian leaders in most of these countries, making her a prime choice for the responsible position.

Kathleen James is unquestionably the “poster person” to represent the realization of CCBI’s goals and purposes since its founding. In 1993 she enrolled at bottom entry level, stating “Because of my love and deep commitment to the Lord and His service, I desire to study His word in a more formulated way. It has always been my quest to find a trustworthy school, and God truly know our desires.” Sis. Kathleen continued with High Honors through her Associate, Bachelor and Master degrees, and currently is completing her Doctorate with a 4.0 average.

When the Trinidad National Director’s office abruptly terminated in 1999, Sis. Kathleen loyally stepped through her already significant church, office and family responsibilities to lead the flagship Trinidad division out of the chaotic transition period. Through her directorship many Christians have received theological training and encouragement to graduate and become some of the island nation’s most respected leaders.

Her honesty and integrity in managing student records and CCBI fees has always been above reproach, and her personal skills in arranging graduations, seminars and hospitality are an example to the many who have been beneficiaries of those events. Sis. Kathleen and her husband Gordon have graciously hosted numerous CCBI teachers from other countries in their beautiful poolside home overlooking nearby mountain ranges and the Caribbean Sea.

God’s word reminds us to give honor to whom honor is due, therefore Sister Kathleen James, Caribbean College of the Bible International salutes you!
